he had wanted to talk to her, to see her, to be near her, but his arrival on altea had been a cacophony of people demanding his attention, people doubting his intentions. and allura had been there for him, to silence doubts, and to place her trust in him. again, when he likely did not deserve such a thing.
he had meant to talk to her at dinner, and couldn't. and then he had meant to see her afterward, but was separated quickly. and so he had wanted to wait, until night fell properly, but once lotor finally got rid of his own aides, it was nearly midnight, and lotor found himself slipping into the palace well past any reasonable hour.
inappropriate, he lectures himself, but lotor continues onward regardless, and with a bit of guesswork, finds himself to what is surely the queen's chambers. and after a quick and quiet knock: ]
